Most important of all, you could be eligible for up to $5000 from Union Gas and the province of Ontario toward qualifying upgrades.

Basement Insulation
$1,250 to add R23

Crawlspace Insulation
$1,000 to add R23 to all crawlspace walls
$500 to add at least R10 to all crawlspace walls
$500 to add at least R24 to 100% of floor above

Windows & Doors
$80 per structural opening for ENERGY STAR qualified windows and doors

Water Heater

$1,000 for qualifying 95%+ AFUE condensing furnace or 90%+ AFUE boiler

Wood Burning System
$750 for qualifying indoor wood-burning or pellet-burning appliance, indoor masonary heater, or outdoor wood-burning appliance

If your home’s primary heat source is

Up to $5,800 to upgrade from Electric Furnace or Electric Baseboard heat to qualifying Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP)

Note: These incentives do not count toward the minimum of two measures as described on the other side. These incentives are not part of the $5,000 cap but are in addition to the $5,000 rebates from the other side. Rebates can only be applied for through one Incentive Program. Double Dipping is not permitted.

Own a detached or semi detached home, row/town house, or mobile home.
The house must be located in the Union Gas program area.
House is heated by natural gas, oil, propane, electricity, or wood.
You must complete an energy assessment both before & after renovations.


Call or go online to book your initial home energy assessment before you start any work.

An Energy Advisor will provide a home energy rating report.

Your Energy advisor will return to complete a final energy assessment after the upgrades are completed and file the paperwork on your behalf.
